Dennis Eugene Blanton, 72, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday,
January 28, 2015, at a St. Joseph health care center.
He was born September 13, 1942 in St. Joseph, son of Marjorie and
Eugene Blanton.

He graduated from Central High school, class of 1960. He worked at
several auto dealerships in their parts departments in the area, as
the Royal Dealership, Tucson, Ariz.

He served in the Army A Company, 70th Engineers during the Vietnam War,
receiving the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service
and Campaign Medals.

He Enjoyed woodworking, coin and gun collecting, working on hotrods &
drag racing. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann
Blanton; and his parents.

He is survived by son, Daniel (Brenda) Blanton, of Springfield, Mo.;
daughter, Tammy (Dave) Brunner, of St. Joseph; step-son, Mark Giesen
of Utah; several nieces and nephews.

He will be cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials
are requested, in lieu of flowers, to the AFL-CIO Community Services.
A private family gathering and inurnment at a national cemetery will
be conducted at a later date.
